Why So Rare

Why Tianchi Tea Is So Rare

I
One of the Highest Tea Regions in Taiwan At 2,600 meters, this is the very top of Fushoushan Farm. The air is thin and the daylight extremely short; the tea trees grow exceptionally slowly in such an extreme environment, and every leaf is a crystallization of time and climate.
II
Frost Damage and Shortfalls Are the Norm The bitter cold often damages the tea trees through frost, making yields unstable. In a poor-weather year, an entire season may be sharply reduced or even left unharvested — even money can't always buy it.
III
Hard Currency Among Connoisseurs Tianchi tea is highly recognized and sought after within circles of seasoned tea lovers. Each year, as the new tea arrives, regulars reserve theirs first — leaving even less to circulate on the open market.
Tea Region

The Fushoushan Tianchi Tea Region

An Extreme Realm at 2,600 Meters
This is the highest point of Fushoushan — the air thin, the daylight short, the afternoons often wrapped in cloud and mist. The harsh, cold climate makes the tea grow slowly, and frost damage often leaves the harvest short. It is precisely this that gives Tianchi tea its weighty cold-mineral note and full mountain character, a treasure that connoisseurs ask for by name every year.

Exclusive to Fushoushan's highest point

The climate decides the yield; each season's quantity can't be predicted

The Tianchi region sits at the very summit of Fushoushan, where frost is frequent and some years go unharvested.
The quantity in each shipment is highly unstable, with regulars reserving most of it in advance — when you see it in stock, we suggest seizing the chance.

Tasting Notes

Tianchi Tea · A Paradise Between Heaven and Earth

A Breath of Great Harmony, Slowly Rising
The tea region beside Heaven Lake is uniquely blessed — drifting mist and haze, a vast sea of clouds. The liquor is soft and smooth in body, sweet and richly fragrant. At first sip it seems plain, but savor it closely and it is the truest of tastes — a breath of great harmony (taihe qi) rising slowly within, as if one stood in a paradise between heaven and earth.

Flavor Profile

A Breakdown of the Flavor Layers

1
Top|Cold-Mineral Freshness The instant it enters the mouth, a singular cold-mineral breath rushes forth — crisp and pure, as if standing amid high-mountain cloud and mist.
2
Mid|Soft, Smooth Sweetness The liquor glides across the tongue like soft water, its sweet, richly fragrant taste unfolding in layers — light at first sip, deepening as you savor.
3
Finish|A Breath of Great Harmony A warm rhyme rises slowly from the throat and reverberates through the body — what tea people call the "breath of great harmony," the bodily sensation unique to Tianchi tea.

Press play and take in the drifting mist of the Tianchi tea region.
