What Is Red Oolong?

Neither Black Tea Nor Ordinary Oolong Red Oolong reaches up to 80% oxidation — close to black tea — yet retains the kill-green step unique to oolong. This gives it both the honeyed sweetness of black tea and the layered body of oolong, perfectly coexisting in a single cup.
Only Found in Luye, Taiwan Developed in 2008 by the Taitung Branch of the Tea Research and Extension Station, Red Oolong is unique to Luye, Taitung. Its terroir — rolling hills, eastern sunlight, and valley temperature swings — cannot be replicated elsewhere.
The New Generation's Favorite Taiwanese Tea Smooth, non-bitter, sweeter when cold-brewed, and rich in flavor yet approachable — Red Oolong has become one of the most popular Taiwanese teas among younger drinkers. It's also the perfect gateway gift for friends who find tea intimidating.

The Pride of Luye, Taitung

A Star Born in 2008
Developed by the Taitung Branch of the Tea Research and Extension Station, Red Oolong is a variety native to Luye. Its rolling hills, diurnal temperature swings, and eastern sun create a flavor that blends black tea sweetness with oolong body. With oxidation levels approaching black tea yet preserving oolong's kill-green process, it has become a rising star beloved by younger tea drinkers.

Heavy Roast Honey Notes · Natural Farming

Amber Liquor · Perfect Hot or Cold
High oxidation (~80%) combined with heavy roasting creates a rich roasted aroma and deep flavor. The liquor glows amber-bright; the sip is smooth and full-bodied, with captivating ripe fruit notes and a gentle honey finish. Whether enjoyed hot or cold-brewed on a summer day, it delivers a long, sweet complexity.

Mindful Cultivation · Precise Craftsmanship
Grown using natural farming with organic fertilizers, allowing the tea plants to thrive in a pesticide-free environment. The processing is meticulous — from sun-withering to heavy roasting, each step is adjusted to weather conditions in pursuit of peak flavor.

Flavor Layer Analysis

Entry | Warm Roasted Aroma The moment it touches your palate, the warm roasted note from the heavy firing leads — steady, never harsh, like a shaft of afternoon winter sunlight.
Mid-Palate | Ripe Fruit Sweetness As the liquor glides over your tongue, a rich ripe-fruit note blooms — a fusion of honeyed peach and longan nectar, round and indulgent without being cloying, sweet with real depth.
Finish | Oolong Body Lingers After swallowing, the full oolong body emerges — a long, warm, lingering sweetness. This is what makes Red Oolong special: black tea can't give you this depth; ordinary oolong can't give you this sweetness.
─── COLD BREW ───

Cold Brew — Highly Recommended

Add 6g of tea leaves to 600ml of cold water, then refrigerate for 6–8 hours.
