The Fushoushan tea region lies deep within the Central Mountain Range, with a wide day-night temperature swing and afternoons wrapped in cloud and mist. The tea grows slowly, with thick, fleshy leaves and an extremely high pectin content, giving it the superb quality of "an elegant aroma, a soft and smooth liquor, and a sweet throat-feel." Harvested in only two seasons each year, spring and winter, its annual supply is extremely limited.
