Shanlinxi sits in the high-mountain belt and is one of Taiwan's renowned high-mountain tea regions. The climate is cool all year round, with summer temperatures averaging only about 20°C, a wide day-night temperature swing, and mist swirling year-round. A moderate annual rainfall and fertile soil create an exceptionally favorable growing environment for the tea trees.
